Tuco Puzzles were started by the Upson Company. Upson had been in the wallboard business for years. Once the depression hit the wallboard business began to fail. Puzzles were popular at this time so the company decided to produce puzzles. They discovered that they could use a steel die to cut the puzzles into tiny pieces. Thus a puzzle business was born. The Tuco branch of the business saved many jobs at Upson during the Great Depression.
